Charity Solar Werks was founded by three generations of the Shaffer family — Ed, Linda, and Amanda Shaffer — bringing over 35 years of hands-on solar installation experience to a nonprofit mission focused on serving low-income and underserved communities.
We believe solar power should not be a luxury — it should be an opportunity.
After decades of designing, engineering, permitting, and installing residential solar systems, our family saw a growing need: families struggling with rising electricity costs and limited access to clean energy.
We design and install residential grid tie solar electric systems at no cost to qualifying homeowners. Each project includes professional installation, utility interconnection, Net Metering setup, and long-term clean energy production.
The result is reduced electricity bills, protection from rising utility rates, and decades of renewable energy savings. As a nonprofit, we are committed to full financial transparency. Donations are used directly for equipment, installation, and utility interconnections so families can benefit from Net Metering credits.
